Z Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our fast growing dynamic team. You will plan and direct activities concerned with the design, development, application, implementation and maintenance of quality standards to ensure that all new and existing 3D printer products meet their requirements for quality.  Ensure all changes to new and existing 3D printer products/processes are fully validated and meet quality standards.  The position will require you to apply your engineering and statistical capabilities to ensure the highest quality of our world-leading products.

Z Corporation undertakes the development of innovative 3D printing equipment from concept, through prototype manufacture, to new product introduction, often incorporating considerable technical challenges. Z Corporation designs and builds a complete line of 3D printers at our headquarters in Burlington, MA.

Responsibilities:

This position involves taking a lead role within the operations group with exposure to all aspects of the product lifecycle. This is a hands-on position where you will interface with Operations, R&D, and Customer Service to assure that quality considerations and requirements are adequately covered in manufacturing procedures, equipment selection, design, validation and training.

It is anticipated that you will:

  • Conduct internal audits to assure compliance and effectiveness of Quality System. 
  • Contribute to development and review of process validations.
  • Develop quality inspection criteria for incoming inspection and manufacturing processes as appropriate for Lean Manufacturing.
  • Lead investigations into non-conforming material including definition of scope, investigation into root cause, disposition of product, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Conduct periodic product, process and supplier audits.
  • Provide statistical guidance to test protocols/reports and ensure that the testing is sufficient to meet quality objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  •  Undergraduate degree in engineering and greater than 8 years practical experience, with proven technical skills, in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Your experience will include lead roles in Quality Assurance for complex technical products. Experience in electro-mechanical and motion control such as inkjet printers, robotic devices, medical or precision equipment and mid-volume production (500-5,000 units) is strongly preferred. You should have excellent team working skills and must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. You should be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Your skill set should include:

  • Motivated self-starter, ability to work independently and systematically with a solid pragmatic approach.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; good organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards and procedures for various high tech industries.
  • Knowledge of scientific mathematics and a clear understanding of statistical concepts, SPC, sampling and validation.
  • Possess and apply knowledge of process control tools and analytical techniques (i.e. SPC, DOE, cause and effect, etc.) to maximize the quality and flow of product through the production line.
  • Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles preferred.
